To do so is critically important, since those who misjudge their spiritual state face eternal tragedy. They will hear from the Lord Jesus Christ the most chilling, horrifying, terrible words imaginable: “I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness” (Matt. 7:23). In one sense, the most dangerous place for an unconverted person to be is in the church. Hearing the truth but not responding to it brings greater accountability and severer judgment. By way of challenging the Corinthians
